Howdy All,

It has been a while since Shaq and I have updated all on our exploits in the heart land of America.

Well the Cliff Notes version goes like this. We are still living in Sioux City, I still work for Gateway, Shaq is doing well, and we miss all of our friends. Ray has no life to speak of.

OK now for the detailed version.

The house is doing fine. Greg & Terry Johnson came over last month from Montana to help (OK they did all the work and I brought beers down) frame in the basement. On the way they got caught in a Blizzard and had to stay at a bar for 24 hours. Needless to say the only reason they left was because it ran out of beer.

So now I have a framed in basement with a family room, bedroom, bathroom, utility closet and Sauna all ready to be finished. So I hope in the next 6 months to get everything completed. Next step will be running the water for the bathroom and putting in the electrical sockets. Then will come putting up the drywall and installing the bathroom fixtures. Once that is done then finishing off the Sauna and putting in carpeting will be next. So lots of fun things for Ray to get off his Ass and start doing.

On a work related note. I am pleased to say that my Server team has built the 5th largest Server line in the U.S. in a short 6 months. The IDC report just came out and we ended up the year at #5. Which is very cool since we were not even in the market until September 15 when I launched the products. This level of success has put the spotlight on us. The trick is now to keep the momentum going. So Ray stays up late and gets up early trying to keep things going. I just launched product in Australia and am about to turn on in Japan and Europe.

Shaq is doing fine. When Greg and Terry came over they brought Greg's Labs. So we had Labfest 98 at the house with Geronimo, Farty and Shaq. All Labs all day all having fun. They played and played. Shaq tried his courting dance on Farty but to no luck. She knows how to keep her legs crossed.

Shaq has discovered a toy called a Kong. It is a hard rubber toy looks like Three doughnuts stacked on each other with bottom one large, the middle one medium and the top one small. The great thing about the toy is that when he drops it it can bounce in every direction. Thus lots of fun and excitement with little intervention by Ray. During the real cold days Shaq stays in the basement and plays with his Kong all day long. I get home a night and he is wiped out from the thing.

I have not been traveling much lately. Just a couple trips to Chicago and Washington D.C. to relax and get away for a day or two. Went to D.C. a couple weeks ago with Bob from Chicago. Had a great time, found a Moroccan restaurant that was fabulous (7 courses, eat with your hands and a belly dancer to boot). Went to all the Smithsonian museums and to the Postal Museum. Found out the that Tommy Gun was the preferred gun of postal workers in the 30's, seems like the 9 MM browning automatic is the preferred gun of postal workers today. (OK sick postal humor)

Well got to run.

Shaq and I want to wish each of you a happy new year and may the good times be more numerous than the not so good ones.

Cheers
Ray & Shaq
