Howdy all,

Shaq, Shasta and I hope you and your families had a happy Turkey day. We had a very nice day where we relaxed and went for long hikes, and watched Tulane go 11-0. Roll Wave Roll

We had many invitations to spend the day with friends, but decided to spend it together as it is the first Turkey day for the entire family.

Shasta started the day by letting me sleep in. Instead of the usual 6am waking attack I was allowed to sleep until 8:30. What a treat. When I did start to stir Shaq jumped up on the bed and sat patiently waiting for his morning belly rub.

After a leisurely morning we decided to go for a hike out at Stone Park. We packed a light brunch and off we went. Shasta likes going to Stone Park because she does not have to be on a leash. Once we were at the park they went for a wild run down the trail. Shaq has this loping gallop going that covers a lot of ground in a single stride. Shasta has this stride that always looks like here rear end is going to come under her, except when going down hill when she looks like she is going to do a flip because here back end is going so much faster then her front legs. Very funny to watch. Both of them run very hard at first then slow down to a trot until we get to the stream at the back end of the trail. There is a nice spot there for them to get a drink of water, we always stop and have a bite to eat and relax here as well. After a half hour they are rested and ready to go.

Now what would a Turkey day be without a bit of Turkey? While we were out and about Shaq spotted a flock of Turkeys walking in the woods. Shasta saw them a split second later. Next thing I knew both were running at top speed jumping over logs, hurdling ditches, going straight thru shrubs all to chase these Turkeys. These birds know Shaq and Shasta and let them get close before flying away. They chased them a bit longer, when they came back they were exhausted and trotted all the way back to the car.

Once home we fixed a nice lunch relaxed and watched Tulane beat up on Louisiana Tech and get there first undefeated season since 1936. For those of you who do not know I got my MBA from Tulane.

Well that is the story of our Turkey day.
